MONDAY WORKSHOPS

Monday workshops are a one day mini course on a specific topic. To get the best out of the day you will need to follow instruction. You will not necessarily go home with one painting but several exploratory ideas and examples to take further into your own work. I will supply you with handouts to prompt your memory at a later date.

WORKSHOPS ARE HELD ON THE SECOND MONDAY OF THE MONTH AT THE BOTANIC GARDEN VENTNOR FROM 10AM – 4PM AT A COST OF £25.00 PAYABLE 4 WEEKS IN ADVANCE TO SECURE BOOKING. 12 PLACES MAXIMUM.

Generally only basic equipment is necessary with any unusual materials being supplied sometimes with a small extra cost. Full details will be sent with confirmation of your booking.

SEPTEMBER 7th – EXPLORE THE LINE
Try different ways of using your pencil or pen for artistic effect. Booking required by 27.07. 09.

OCTOBER 11th– EXPLORE THE LINE AND SPACE
Learn new drawing skills and styles and the ones that work the best for you and how to transfer this to your support. Begin to understand balanced composition.

NOVEMBER 15th– GETTING IN THE MOOD
Learning how colour and composition can effect the mood portrayed.
(all mediums except oils)

DECEMBER 13th– CONTEMPORY WATERCOLOUR
Using the medium with textures to achieve interesting land/seascapes. (watercolours)

FEBRUARY 14th– FUN WITH ACRYLICS
Discover techniques and the many ways this versatile medium can be used.

MARCH 14th -  ABSTRACTION
Learn how to abstract an image based on a theme.

APRIL 11th – CELEBRATING FLOWERS
Looking at floral forms and textures in simple, contemporary compositions.
